Residential Tenant Consultation

This is a 30-minute phone consult for residential tenants. You will be able to submit documents for review and will receive an honest and thorough analysis about your case and recommended next steps.

This consult our most popular and is the most recommended for residential tenants, as it allows for actual legal advice and review of your specific facts.

If any future work is agreed-upon, $75 of the consult fee is credited towards any initial retainer.

Commercial Tenant Consultation

This is a 30-minute phone consult for commercial tenants. “Commercial” means that you are operating a business or are leasing to a business per a commercial/business lease, even if the business is also being used as a residence.

You will be able to submit documents for review and will receive an honest and thorough analysis about your case and recommended next steps.

If any future work is agreed-upon, $75 of the consult fee is credited towards any initial retainer.

Q&A Call

This Question & Answer Call is only for residential tenant matters and is designed for those who truly have a “quick question” about the law. No legal advice will be given, nor any documents reviewed or specific facts considered.

As few legal questions are actually “quick” and tenant matters are often fact-heavy, this Q&A Call is NOT recommended for most tenants and the 30-minute consults are typically more productive. This Q&A call is nonrefundable once scheduled.

Residential Landlord Consultation

This is a 30-minute phone consult for residential landlords. If you are renting out any space primarily for residential use, this consult type applies to you.

If you are a landlord seeking a quote for new lease drafting or eviction paperwork, we nonetheless require an initial consult to understand your situation, with part of the consult fee being credited towards any future work.

You will be able to submit documents for review and will receive an honest and thorough analysis about your case and recommended next steps. It is imperative that we review any active lease, at a minimum.

Commercial Landlord Consultation

This is a 30-minute phone consult for commercial landlords. “Commercial” here means that you are renting to a tenant so they may operate a commercial business at the leased premises.

If you are a landlord seeking a quote for new lease drafting or eviction paperwork, we nonetheless require an initial consult to understand your situation, with part of the consult fee being credited towards any future work.

You will be able to submit documents for review and will receive an honest and thorough analysis about your case and recommended next steps. It is imperative that we review any active lease, at a minimum.

Real Estate

This is a 30-minute phone consult for real estate consultation, designed for those who need advice regarding real estate transaction disputes (escrow/option money disputes, problems terminating a contract, etc., or for those who have questions regarding real estate purchase agreements or deeds/title issues.

For those who want deeds drafted, we do require an initial paid consult to gather information to determine what type of deed is needed. If future work is agreed-upon, 100% of this consult fee is applied to the cost of the deed drafting.

Please note that we do not handle zoning, HOA, or property tax disputes.

Estate Planning

We offer free 30-minute consults for those desiring new estate planning documents. An initial intake questionnaire is required.

If you wish to have estate planning documents reviewed or desire advice regarding an existing probate/estate planning matter, we offer paid 30-minute phone consults. These must be arranged by calling our office and pricing varies on complexity and the amount of documents to be reviewed.

Please note that questions regarding transfers of title after death/from an estate are Real Estate questions.

Contract or Legal Paperwork Review

For those who desire a review of contracts or other legal paperwork (divorce decrees, property management agreements, etc.), we offer flat fee review packages, with the price dependent on the length and type of document requested. This does not apply to residential or commercial leases, which are handled by their specific consult types above.

Flat fee review does not include any contract drafting and/or editing in addition to review, which would be performed on an hourly basis.

Business Creation and Planning

If you wish to create a new LLC or other business entity in Texas, we can assist. LLCs are often performed on a flat fee basis, while other entity structures may be on an hourly retainer basis. Please use the questionnaire link below to receive a price quote. The price for business creation depends heavily on the complexity of your business structure.

scheduling & cancellation policies

Disclaimer: Our acceptance of payment for a consult and scheduling of the same is no acknowledgement that you “have a case” or that Zapalac Law Firm, PLLC, agrees to represent you in any way beyond the limited scope of the paid consult. By scheduling a consult, you understand that there is always a risk that the professional opinion of your case may not be what you want to hear. Unwelcome news regarding the merits are not grounds for a refund nor does it constitute any incomplete service, as the professional analysis is the precise service sought and paid for.

Cancellation Policy: We are usually fully-booked with appointments at least 24-48 hours in advance, and scheduling your consult guarantees time set aside for you. Therefore, we require cancellation more than 24 hours from the time of your appointment, subject to a $35 administrative cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 24 hours before your appointment time are subject to a cancellation fee equal to 100% of your consult fee. Appointments on a Monday require cancellation by the appropriate time on the preceding Friday (cancellations on a Saturday or Sunday are not accepted). All cancellation requests must be sent by email to info@zapalaclawfirm.com . No voicemail or phone reschedule requests are accepted.
The $95 Q&A Call for Landlord/Tenant matters is nonrefundable once paid, with no exceptions. If you paid for any expedited consult (which bears a premium cost in addition to the base consult fee for your type of matter), the entire amount is nonrefundable once paid and scheduled, with no exceptions.

Reschedule Policy: We allow one reschedule of your consult with no fees if you email a reschedule request more than 24 hours before your appointment time. All reschedule requests must be emailed to info@zapalaclawfirm.com . No voicemail/phone reschedule requests will be honored. Reschedule requests for a Monday appointment must be received before the appropriate time the preceding Friday (no Saturday or Sunday requests will be honored). If a timely written reschedule request is not received, there is a cancellation
fee of 100% of the amount paid.
